On April 12, Sumy State University hosted a meeting "Face-to-face with the rector", organized by the student self-government together with the administration of the institution. This format of dialogue between the rectorate and students is traditional. It aims at a frank and open discussion of urgent issues regarding the organization of students' academic and extracurricular life and a constructive exchange of ideas, plans, and proposals.
During the week, all interested parties had the opportunity to address their questions to the rector of Sumy State University Vasyl KARPUSHA using a Google form. Also, additional questions were asked directly during the meeting. In addition, the rector outlined the vision of solving problems and considered the suggestions expressed during the survey "Educational process through the eyes of students."
The event was moderated by the student rector of Sumy State University Asen ASENOV.
Questions from students and their wishes were diverse - regarding the format of conducting classes: face-to-face, online or mixed, the even distribution of the educational load, the organization of classroom classes and practice, the conduct of elective disciplines, the introduction of new specialities, the operation of the unified educational platform of the Mix. Some questions related to teachers' professional competencies and their interaction with students.
Immediately during the discussion, the rector instructed the heads of university-wide services and structural divisions to consider individual proposals and student wishes.
Vasyl KARPUSHA emphasized that the university's management focuses on creating safe learning conditions for the participants of the educational process, in particular, arranging more shelters for conducting classroom classes. At the same time, despite the current challenges, Sumy State University is focused on providing students with quality knowledge and professional skills.
The rector noted the importance of communication between the administrative and student rectors, scientific and pedagogical workers who are partners in the educational process, to jointly build strategic and tactical plans for the development of the university, called on all those seeking education to more actively participate in the surveys systematically conducted by the university, since constructive dialogue - one of the key links in the system of education quality formation in Sumy State University.
"It is important for us to feel the dynamics of student life and your vision of problems, to respond to them promptly and, if possible, solve them," concluded Vasyl KARPUSHA.
