Since April 13, 2026, fourth-year students majoring in 102 "Chemistry" under the "Applied Chemistry" educational program have been undergoing their pre-graduation internship, combined with the preparation of their bachelor's qualification thesis.

The internship is hosted by LLC "Sumykamvol". The enterprise began its operations in 1987 as the Sumy Worsted Spinning Mill, producing knitting yarn, and later transformed into the "Sumykamvol" group of companies. As part of their internship, students familiarized themselves with the technological production processes, laboratory operations, and the product range.

Yarn production operates under LLC "Cascade-Textile"—one of the largest yarn importers in Ukraine, sourcing products from various countries, including Turkey, Poland, India, and others. The company's product range includes around 2,000 items of yarn of various compositions and colors. "Sumykamvol" is one of the leading enterprises in Ukraine in the field of cottonization of bast fibers, such as flax and hemp. Additionally, the company manufactures "Konsulat", an eco-friendly building insulation material made from hemp fiber, which is produced from fully renewable and biodegradable raw materials.

Introducing students to the operations of such a large-scale production facility has become an important stage in the professional training of future chemists. The internship allowed students not only to consolidate the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during their studies but also to gain new competencies related to the production technologies of eco-friendly materials that align with modern principles of sustainable development.
