From July 6 to July 14, 2026, 20 students and lecturers from Kharkiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, and Kryvyi Rih attended the summer school at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), which is part of the German-Ukrainian University Network (DUHN). Daryna Myronenko, a 3rd-year bachelor's student in Chemistry at Sumy State University (SumDU), was among the participants.

Students aged 18 to 22 studied German studies, chemistry, or physics. On the Essen campus, they attended language, art, literature, and translation workshops, took part in practical laboratory sessions, and exchanged ideas with UDE students and researchers. Guided excursions also gave them the opportunity to explore the city and the region.

Daryna Myronenko shared her impressions: "This academic mobility was a wonderful opportunity for everyone – regardless of their experience level – to acquire new lab skills and enhance existing ones.

The synthesis and analysis of samples using modern equipment, a guided tour of the research center, and insightful lectures made for a very student-friendly program. It will undoubtedly remain an unforgettable and valuable experience for my future career.

I would like to extend special thanks to the Summer School organizers and guest lecturers for their professionalism, valuable advice, support, and the warm atmosphere within our friendly team.

This trip left me not only with new knowledge and practical skills, but also with countles pleasant memories and new connections. This experience will long remain an important and inspiring part of my professional journey."
